The National World War II Memorial in Washington opened in 2004. It honors some of the Greatest Generation. But the people who won WWII are quite elderly. Traveling is difficult. So, most have never seen it.
The Honor Flight Network aims to change that. It’s a charity that flies elderly veterans to Washington. This video records one of those trips.
On this flight, 111 WWII vets are honored. They are given a hero’s welcome at the airport. They get the chance to trade stories on the plane. And then they visit their monument. This is a touching video.
